Meet Melissa

Since 2021, I've had the privilege of supporting numerous families through their birth journeys.  Each birth has deepened my commitment to this work and reinforced my belief that compassionate, knowledgeable support can make all the difference in how a family experiences birth and early parenthood.  I am dedicated to providing the best pregnancy and postpartum care services to expecting mothers and their families.   As your doula, I will support you and ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy experience.

I founded Nurturing Beginnings Doula Care because, as a mother of three sons who experienced a traumatic birth with each child, I understand the vulnerability, fear, and uncertainty that can accompany pregnancy and childbirth. I never want another mother to go through what I experienced during my own birthing experiences.  Every family deserves to feel supported, empowered, and respected during one of life's most profound transitions.  

My mission is to help women and their families rediscover the beauty and joy of bringing new life into this world.

Through my Community Access Pricing Model, I'm committed to making doula support accessible to families across different financial circumstances while maintaining the highest quality of care for everyone I serve.

My extensive background in healthcare as a pharmacy technician, medical assistant, health science teacher, community health worker and instructor gives me a unique perspective on birth support. I've combined this professional knowledge with my personal experience to create a doula practice centered on informed, culturally competent care.  I look forward to being part of your journey and helping you create a birth experience that honors your unique needs, values, and vision.
